The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 Who avoid vain talk; 3 pay their religious tax 4 and who are mindful of their chastity, 5 Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; 6 And whosoever seeketh beyond that, then it is these who are the transgressors 7 And who are shepherds of their pledge and their covenant, 8 to their promise, 9 These are they who are the heirs, 10 Heirs of Paradise, they shall abide in it forever. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 and then We cause him to remain as a drop of sperm in [the wombs] firm keeping, 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 Then indeed, after that you are to die. 15 Then lo! on the Day of Resurrection ye are raised (again). 16 And We have created above you seven paths, and We are never unmindful of creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure and lodged it in the earth, but if We please, We have the power to take it away, 18 With it We grow for you gardens of date-palms and vines: in them have ye abundant fruits: and of them ye eat (and have enjoyment),- 19 Also, a tree which grows on the Tor of Sinai and gives oil and relish for its eaters. 20 And Verily! In the cattle there is indeed a lesson for you. We give you to drink (milk) of that which is in their bellies. And there are, in them, numerous (other) benefits for you, and of them you eat. 21 And you are carried on them and on the ship. 22
