In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O you who wraps himself [in clothing], 1 Stand up for worship during the night, except for some part of it. 2 Half of it - or subtract from it a little 3 or add to it a little; and recite the Qur'an slowly and distinctly. 4 Behold, We shall bestow upon thee a weighty message 5 Verily the rising by night! it is most curbing and most conducive to right speech. 6 You have by day prolonged occupations [with Dawah work]. 7 Remember the Name of your Lord and dedicate yourself devoutly to Him. 8 The Lord of the East and the West-- there is no god but He-- therefore take Him for a protector. 9 And bear patiently the vain things they utter, and gracefully forsake them. 10 And leave Me with [the matter of] the deniers, those of ease [in life], and allow them respite a little. 11 We have fetters (for them) and a blazing fire, 12 And food that chokes and a painful punishment - 13 On the Day when the earth and the mountains will be in violent shake, and the mountains will be a heap of sand poured out and flowing down. 14 Surely We have sent unto you a Messenger as a witness over you, even as We sent to Pharaoh a Messenger, 15 In response Firaun disobeyed the Noble Messenger, so We seized him with a severe seizure. 16 If therefore you disbelieve, how will you guard yourselves against a day that shall make the children grey-headed? 17 [the Day] on which the skies shall be rent asunder, [and] His promise [of resurrection] fulfilled? 18 This is indeed a Reminder. Let whosoever will take the Path to his Lord. 19
