The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And those who govern the event, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
