Alshu'araa' 10 of 11
The dwellers in the wood (of Midian) denied the messengers (of Allah), 176 Behold, Shu'aib said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 177 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 180 ۞ "[Always] give full measure, and be not among those who [unjustly] cause loss [to others]; 181 And weigh with a balance straight. 182 and do not defraud people in their property or spread evil in the land. 183 Fear Him who created you, and the generations of the ancients.' 184 They said: "You are only one of those bewitched! 185 You are only a human being like ourselves. Indeed we think you are a liar. 186 "So cause a piece of the heaven to fall on us, if you are of the truthful!" 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 190 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 191
