And he whose sight is dim to the remembrance of the Beneficent, We assign unto him a devil who becometh his comrade; 36 and they bar them from the Way, though they themselves think that they are guided. 37 Until when he cometh unto Us, he will say. Ah! would that there had been between me and thee, the distance of the east and the west an evil companion 38 It will profit you not this Day (O you who turn away from Allah's remembrance and His worship, etc.) as you did wrong, (and) that you will be sharers (you and your Qarin) in the punishment. 39 What! can you then make the deaf to hear or guide the blind and him who is in clear error? 40 Even if We take you away, We shall take vengeance upon them, 41 or We show you a part of that which We have promised them, for indeed We have power over them. 42 Follow devotedly that which is revealed to you. You are certainly on the right path. 43 And it is undoubtedly an honour for you and your people; and you will soon be questioned. 44 Ask those of Our Messengers We sent before thee: Have We appointed, apart from the All-merciful, gods to be served? 45
