Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Hour! 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what do you know what that indubitable event is? 3 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur, 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing 21 In an elevated garden, 22 its fruits are near. 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 But as for him whose record shall be placed in his left hand, he will exclaim: "Oh, would that I had never been shown this my record, 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! 27 “My wealth did not in the least benefit me.” 28 Gone from me is my authority." 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. 32 Verily he was wont not to believe in Allah, the Mighty. 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 Nor any food save filth 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
