People of Hijr rejected the Messengers. 80 And though We had given them Our signs they turned away from them. 81 They used to hew dwellings in the mountains to live in security. 82 So the rumbling overtook them in the morning; 83 And of no avail to them was all that they did (with such art and care)! 84 We did not create the heavens and the earth, and what is between them except in truth. The Hour is sure to come, therefore, forgive them with a gracious pardon. 85 Surely your Lord is the All Knowing Creator! 86 And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an. 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 and say, "I am, indeed, a plain warner," 89 such as We send down for those who are divisive, 90 who have broken the Koran into parts, 91 By your Lord, We will question them all 92 About what they used to do. 93 So proclaim that which thou art commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters. 94 We suffice you against those who mock, 95 those who set up another deity alongside Allah. They shall soon come to know. 96 And indeed We know that you are disheartened by their speech. 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 And serve thy Lord till the Inevitable cometh unto thee. 99
