NOW, VERILY, it is We who have created man, and We know what his innermost self whispers within him: for We are closer to him than his neck-vein. 16 Behold, two (guardian angels) appointed to learn (his doings) learn (and noted them), one sitting on the right and one on the left. 17 Man does not utter any word except that with him is an observer prepared [to record]. 18 Lo, the agony of death has indeed come with the Truth. That is what you had sought to avoid. 19 And the Trumpet was blown; “This is the Day of the promised punishment.” 20 Each person will arrive attended by an [angel] to drive him on and another to bear witness. 21 Certainly you were heedless of it, but now We have removed from you your veil, so your sight today is sharp. 22 And his comrade shall say, 'This is what I have, made ready.' 23 [Allah will say], "Throw into Hell every obstinate disbeliever, 24 who is an opponent of good, a suspicious transgressor 25 who set up with God another god; therefore, you twain, cast him into the terrible chastisement.' 26 ۞ His Companion will say: "Our Lord! I did not make him transgress, but he was (himself) far astray." 27 God will say, "Do not quarrel in My presence. I gave you the warning beforehand 28 No word is to be exchanged in My presence. I am not unjust to My servants". 29
