So remind [O Muhammad], for you are not, by the favor of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. 29 If they say, "He is but a poet; we are waiting for some misfortune to befall him," 30 Say thou: "Await ye!- I too will wait along with you!" 31 Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people? 32 Or do they say, "He fabricated the (Message)"? Nay, they have no faith! 33 Then let them produce speech the like thereof, if they are truthful. 34 Or were they created out of nothing? Or are they the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no firm Belief. 36 Or do they have the treasures of your Lord, or are they the authority? 37 Or have they a ladder, by which they can (climb up to heaven and) listen (to its secrets)? Then let (such a) listener of theirs produce a manifest proof. 38 Or hath He daughters whereas ye have sons? 39 Or do you demand any wages from them so that they are burdened with expense? 40 Or that the Ghaib (unseen) is with them, and they write it down? 41 Or do they desire a war? But those who disbelieve shall be the vanquished ones in war. 42 Or have they a god other than Allah? Exalted is Allah far above the things they associate with Him! 43 If they should see a segment falling from the sky, they would say: "It is only a massive cloud." 44 So leave them alone till they meet their Day, in which they will sink into a fainting (with horror). 45 Their deception will not avail them in the least on that day, nor will they be helped. 46 For the harmdoers there is indeed, a punishment before that, but most of them do not know. 47 Await the judgement of your Lord, for you are always before Our eyes, and glorify your Lord with praises when you rise, 48 Extol His glory at night, and at the setting of the stars. 49
