(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 And you are lost in play! 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
