The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 there is no denying its coming 2 The event will be abasing some, and exalting some. 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 and the mountains crumbled, 5 they will become like dust scattered around. 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 and the Outstrippers: the Outstrippers 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 Wherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness, 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 The reward for what they did. 24 Therein they hear no vain or sinful discourse. 25 Other than "Peace, peace" the salutation. 26 As for the people of the right hand, how happy they will be! 27 They will live amid the thornless lot trees 28 and serried acacias, 29 and extended shade, 30 near to flowing water 31 and abundant fruit, 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And carpets raised. 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 So made them as maidens. 36 chastely amorous, 37 For the Companions of the Right Hand. 38
