The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
