Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 In a high Garden. 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 and raised couches, 13 and prepared goblets, 14 and cushions arrayed 15 And linen spread out. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 for behold, unto Us will be their return, 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
