In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 HAST THOU ever considered him who tries to prevent 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 Did you consider: what if he is on the Right Way, 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 Nay, if he desist not, We shall most surely drag him down upon his forehead 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
