The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 They said, "If you do not desist, Lot, you will surely be banished." 167 He said, "I am one of those who abhors your ways. 168 “My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.” 169 Then We delivered him and all his family 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might Most Merciful. 175
