Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 for an appointed term? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
