The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
