The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
