Pilgrimage (Al-Hajj)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ O people! guard against (the punishment from) your Lord; surely the violence of the hour is a grievous thing. 1 On that Day you will see every one that suckles shall forsake her suckling, and every carrier shall miscarry, and you shall see mankind drunk although they are not drunk; dreadful will be the punishment of Allah. 2 Some people argue about God without knowledge and follow every rebellious devil. 3 (The devil) Upon whom is decreed that whoever befriends him, he will certainly mislead him and show him the path to hell. 4 O mankind! If you are in doubt about the Resurrection, then verily! We have created you (i.e. Adam) from dust, then from a Nutfah (mixed drops of male and female sexual discharge i.e. offspring of Adam), then from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood) then from a little lump of flesh, some formed and some unformed (miscarriage), that We may make (it) clear to you (i.e. to show you Our Power and Ability to do what We will). And We cause whom We will to remain in the wombs for an appointed term, then We bring you out as infants, then (give you growth) that you may reach your age of full strength. And among you there is he who dies (young), and among you there is he who is brought back to the miserable old age, so that he knows nothing after having known. And you see the earth barren, but when We send down water (rain) on it, it is stirred (to life), it swells and puts forth every lovely kind (of growth). 5 All this is because Allah, He is the Truth, and because He resurrects the dead, and because He has power over everything, 6 The Hour will come without a doubt, and God will raise those who are dead. 7 Yet there are some who contend about God without any knowledge or guidance or enlightening Book, 8 (Disdainfully) bending his side, in order to lead (men) astray from the Path of Allah: for him there is disgrace in this life, and on the Day of Judgment We shall make him taste the Penalty of burning (Fire). 9 That is the outcome of what your own hands have wrought, for Allah never wrongs His creatures. 10
