[AND] the people of Lot gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 160 When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 161 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 164 What, of all creation will you go to (fornicate with) the males, 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 [Lot] exclaimed: "Behold, I am one of those who utterly abhor your doings!" 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 175
