And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 Which the trustworthy Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] has brought down; 193 Upon your heart that you may be of the warners 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And indeed it is mentioned in the earlier Books. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars (like 'Abdullah bin Salam who embraced Islam) of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 Had We revealed it to a man of obscure tongue 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter the hearts of the sinners. 200 They will not believe in it until they clearly see the grievous chastisement. 201 And it shall come to them all of a sudden, while they shall not perceive; 202 They will therefore say, “Will we get some respite?” 203 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 204 Have you then considered if We let them enjoy themselves for years, 205 and then what they were promised comes to them, 206 what avail will their past enjoyments be to them? 207 We never destroyed a village that did not have warners 208 to admonish them. We have never been unjust. 209 And it is not the Shayatin (devils) who have brought it (this Quran) down, 210 they are not supposed to do so. Nor do have they the ability for such a task. 211 Verily far from hearing are they removed. 212 So do not call on any deity besides God, lest you incur His punishment. 213 And warn your near relations, 214 And be kind and humble to the believers who follow you. 215 Then if they disobey you say to them: "I am quit of what you do." 216 And put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful, 217 who sees thee when thou standest [alone,] 218 And your movement among those who prostrate. 219 Indeed only He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They come down to every mendacious sinner, 222 The devils convey upon them what they heard, but most of them are liars. 223 And as to the poets, those who go astray follow them. 224 Have you not seen them wandering and bewildered in every valley 225 and that they [so often] say what they do not do [or feel]? 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227
True are the words of God the Almighty.
