Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
