And do not ever assume that Allah is unaware of what the unjust do; He does not give them respite but for a day in which the eyes will become fixed, staring. 42 (And) they would hasten forward, heads lifted upwards, gazes fixed, and emptied out their hearts. 43 (O Muhammad), warn mankind of the Day when a severe chastisement shall overtake them, and the wrong-doers will say: "Our Lord, grant us respite for a short while; we shall respond to Your call and will follow Your Messengers." (But they will be clearly told): "Are you not the same who swore earlier that they shall never suffer decline?" 44 You lived in the dwellings of those who wronged themselves, and it was clear to you how We dealt with them, and how We struck parables for you. 45 And indeed they carried out their scheme, and their scheming is within Allah’s control; and their scheme was not such that could move these mountains*. (* The revelations / signs of Allah.) 46 So do not deem that God will fail in His promise to His Messengers; surely God is All-mighty, Vengeful. 47 On the day when the earth will be changed to other than the earth, and the heavens (also will be changed) and they will come forth unto Allah, the One, the Almighty, 48 And on that day you will see the guilty linked together in chains. 49 Their cloaks will be of pitch and fire will cover their faces. 50 So that Allah will recompense every soul for what it earned. Indeed, Allah is swift in account. 51 THIS IS A MESSAGE unto all mankind. Hence, let them be warned thereby, and let them know that He is the One and Only God; and let those who are endowed with insight take this to heart! 52
