The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
