Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 labouring, weary, 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 In which are high thrones. 13 Goblets set, 14 and cushions arrayed 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
