O Ye apostles! eat the good things and work righteously; verily of that which ye work I am the Knower. 51 And verily! This your religion (of Islamic Monotheism) is one religion, and I am your Lord, so keep your duty to Me. 52 But they (men) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its belief. 53 But leave them alone, lost in their ignorance, until a [future] time. 54 Do they think that what We extend to them of wealth and children 55 have no other purpose except to help them in acquiring material benefits? No indeed. But they do not understand. 56 Verily! Those who live in awe for fear of their Lord; 57 And they who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 who associate none with their Lord in His Divinity, 59 And those who give whatsoever they give, while their hearts are anxious that unto their Lord they are to be returners. 60 These are hastening on to good, and they are therein foremost. 61 And We do not burden any soul beyond its capacity, and with Us is a Book* that speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged. (* The preserved tablet or the record of one’s deeds.) 62 Nay, their hearts are in overwhelming ignorance with respect to it and they have besides this other deeds which they do. 63 Until when We seize their affluent ones with punishment, at once they are crying [to Allah] for help. 64 "Put a stop to your groaning now! Surely no help shall be provided to you from Us. 65 My Signs were rehearsed to you and you turned back on your heels and took to flight, 66 being proud against it, talking foolishness by night. 67 Was it that you did not give any thought to it (the Quran)? Was it different from what was revealed to your fathers? 68 Or is it, perchance, that they have not recognized their Apostle, and so they disavow him? 69 Or, say they: in him is madness? O Aye he brought them the truth, and most of them to the truth are averse. 70 Were the Truth to follow their desires, the order of the heavens and the earth and those who dwell in them would have been ruined. Nay, the fact is that We have brought to them their own remembrance; and yet it is from their own remembrance that they are turning away. 71 Or dost thou [O Muhammad] ask of them any worldly recompense? But [they ought to know that] recompense from thy Sustainer is best, since He is the best of providers! 72 You are surely calling them to the right path. 73 But those who believe not in the Hereafter turn away from the straight path. 74 ۞ Were We to be merciful to them and remove from them their present afflictions, they would persist in their transgression, blindly wandering on. 75 And indeed, We tested them through suffering, but they did not abase themselves before their Sustainer; and they will never humble themselves 76 Until when We open upon them a door of severe chastisement, lo! they are in despair at it. 77
