And indeed, [it was for this reason that] Noah cried unto Us - and how excellent was Our response: 75 We saved him and his people from great distress, 76 And We preserved his descendants. 77 We left mention of him among later generations. 78 Peace be with Noah among all men in the worlds. 79 That is how We reward those who do good. 80 Verily, he [Nuh (Noah)] was one of Our believing slaves. 81 We drowned all the others (besides Noah and his people). 82 ۞ And Abraham indeed was of his inducement, 83 Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. 84 and [thus] spoke to his father and his people: "What is it that you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 The people invited him to attend their feast). Then he looked at the stars 88 And he said: verily I am about to be sick. 89 So they turned away from him, and departed. 90 Then he went quietly to the (temple of the deities) and said: “What is the matter with you, why do you not eat? 91 Why do you not speak?" 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 And (his people) came toward him, hastening. 94 but he said, "How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, 95 while it is Allah Who has created you and all that you make?” 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 So they plotted a plot against him, but We made them the lowest. 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 My Lord! grant me of the doers of good deeds. 100 We gave him the good news that he would have a patient, forbearing son. 101 And when he became capable of working with him, Ibrahim said, “O my son, I dreamt that I am sacrificing you therefore now consider what is your opinion”; he said, “O my father! Do what you are commanded! Allah willing, you will soon find me patiently enduring!” 102 Then when the twain had submitted themselves and he had prostrated him upon his temple. 103 We called out: "O Abraham, 104 you have indeed fulfilled your dream. Thus do We reward the good-doers.” 105 This is indeed the manifest trial.' 106 We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 Peace be on Ibrahim. 109 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 110 He was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Is-haq, a prophet, and of the righteous. 112 We had blessed him and Isaac. Some of their offspring were righteous and others were openly unjust to themselves. 113
