Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
