Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)
8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
The desire to have more of the worldly gains have pre-occupied you so much (that you have neglected remembring God), 1 Until ye visit the graves. 2 No indeed; but soon you shall know. 3 Again lo! presently ye shall know. 4 Nay, if you could but understand [it] with an understanding [born] of certainty, 5 You will be shown hell 6 And again, you shall see it with certainty of sight! 7 and on that Day you will most surely be called to account for [what you did with] the boon of life! 8
True are the words of God the Almighty.
