Then, when the Messengers (the angels) came unto the family of Lout (Lot). 61 He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown." 62 They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt. 63 "Yet we bring to you the truth, and we are truthful. 64 So set out with your family in a watch of the night, and keep yourself behind them, and no one of you may turn around, and keep going ahead as you have been commanded." 65 And We decreed for him that commandment, that the last remnant of those should be cut off in the morning. 66 And the people of the city came, rejoicing at the news (of new arrivals). 67 He said: verily these are my guests, so disgrace me not. 68 Have fear of Allah, and do not humiliate me." 69 They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people?" 70 He said, "Here are my daughters, if you must act in this way." 71 By your life! they were blindly wandering on in their intoxication. 72 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them at the time of sunrise; 73 And We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay. 74 Verily, in all this there are messages indeed for those who can read the signs: 75 And the (cities were) right on the high-road. 76 Indeed in that is a sign for the believers. 77 AND THE DWELLERS of the wooded dales [of Madyan, too,] were inveterate evildoers, 78 We afflicted them with punishment. Both people had clear (divine) authority among them. 79
