The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven adorned with big stars. 1 And by oath of the Promised Day. 2 by the Witness and the witnessed, 3 Cursed be the makers of the pit, 4 of fire fiercely burning [for all who have attained to faith]! 5 When they sat by it 6 And they witnessed (all) that they were doing against the Believers. 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Those who persecute the believers, men and women, and then have not repented, there awaits them the chastisement of Gehenna, and there awaits them the chastisement of the burning. 10 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow; this is the great success. 11 Stern indeed is your Lord's punishment. 12 Behold, it is He who creates [man] in the first instance, and He [it is who] will bring him forth anew. 13 And He only is the Oft Forgiving, the Beloved of His bondmen. 14 Owner of the Throne, the Exalted. 15 Effecter of what He intends. 16 HAS IT ever come within thy ken, the story of the [sinful] hosts 17 Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? 18 But those who disbelieve are engaged in denial. 19 Whereas Allah is, from behind them, Encompassing. 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 written on a preserved Tablet. 22
