The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 A slave when he prayeth? 10 Have you considered if he were on the right way, 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Have you seen if he denies and turns away - 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
