The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 160 Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 Do you approach males among the worlds 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 [Lot] exclaimed: "Behold, I am one of those who utterly abhor your doings!" 168 [And then he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Save me and my household from all that they are doing!" 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind. 171 then We destroyed the others, 172 And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned. 173 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 174 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 175
