▼ 37 The Arrangers
Al-Saaffaat 5 of 5
And Jonah too was one of the Messengers. 139 When he left towards the laden ship. 140 And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard). 141 then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. 142 Had he not been one of those who acknowledge the glory of God, 143 He would certainly have remained inside the Fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ but We caused him to be cast forth on a desert shore, sick [at heart] as he was, 145 and caused a gourd tree to grow over him, 146 We sent him as a messenger to a hundred thousand people or more, 147 and they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 AND NOW ask them to enlighten thee: Has thy Sustainer daughters, whereas they would have [only] sons? 149 Or, did We create the angels females while they were witnessing? 150 Then is it of their lying that they say: 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What is amiss with you and your judgment? 154 Then will you not be reminded? 155 Or have ye a clear warrant? 156 “Then bring forth your Book, if you are truthful!” 157 And they have appointed a relationship between Him and the jinns; and indeed the jinns surely know that they will be brought forth. 158 Glorified is Allah! (He is Free) from what they attribute unto Him! 159 Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin]. 160 You and whatever you worship 161 You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him 162 except those who will burn in Hell. 163 [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: 164 “And indeed we, with our wings spread, await the command.” 165 And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah." 166 They used to say: 167 Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. 168 We would have been the chosen servants of Allah." 169 But they disbelieved in it; soon they shall know! 170 Our word had already been given before to Our votaries, the apostles, -- 171 will certainly be victorious 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 So turn thou from them for a while, 174 and see, and soon they too shall see. 175 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 176 When it descends upon their courtyards, evil will be the morning of those forewarned. 177 And turn thou aside from them for a season. 178 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 179 Glory be to thy Lord, the Lord of Glory, above that they describe! 180 And peace be unto those sent (to warn). 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
