Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 storming tempestuously 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 For a known calculated term. 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 as black camels. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
