(Moses) said: My Lord! relieve my mind 25 And ease my task for me; 26 Unloose the knot upon my tongue, 27 so that they may understand my speech, 28 And give to me an aider from my family: 29 Aaron my brother 30 by him confirm my strength, 31 And share my task, 32 So shall we glorify Thee, 33 and remember You much: 34 "Verily! You are of us Ever a Well-Seer." 35 The Lord said, "Moses, your request is granted. 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on thee another time (before). 37 When We told your mother what We relate: 38 'Put him in a wooden box and cast it in the river. The river will cast it on the bank. An enemy of Ours, and his, will retrieve it.' We bestowed Our love on you that you may be reared under Our eyes. 39 "When your sister went and said: 'Shall I show you one who will nurse him?' So We restored you to your mother, that she might cool her eyes and she should not grieve. Then you did kill a man, but We saved you from great distress and tried you with a heavy trial. Then you stayed a number of years with the people of Madyan (Midian). Then you came here according to the fixed term which I ordained (for you), O Musa (Moses)! 40 I have chosen you for Me. 41 Go, thou and thy brother, with My tokens, and be not faint in remembrance of Me. 42 Go, both of you, to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 43 Speak to him with gentle words; perhaps he will ponder or fear' 44 They (Moses and Aaron) said: "Our Lord! We fear lest he hasten with insolence against us, or lest he transgress all bounds." 45 He said: "Fear not: for I am with you: I hear and see (everything). 46 So go you both to Pharaoh, and say, "We are the Messengers of thy Lord, so send forth with us the Children of Israel and chastise them not; we have brought thee a sign from thy Lord; and peace be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 It has been revealed to us that chastisement awaits those who called the lie to the truth and turned away from it.' " 48 [Pharaoh] said, "So who is the Lord of you two, O Moses?" 49 'Our Lord' he replied, 'is He Who gave everything its creation and then guided it' 50 He said: What then is the state of the generations of old? 51 Musa said: the knowledge thereof is with my Lord in the Book; my Lord erreth not, nor He forgetteth. 52 It is He who has made for you the earth as a cradle and threaded roads for you and sends down water from the sky with which We bring forth every kind of plant. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle: verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 54
