And certainly did the companions of Thamud deny the messengers. 80 And we gave them Our revelations, but they were averse to them. 81 And they hewed houses in the mountains in security. 82 So the scream overcame them at morning. 83 And of no avail to them was all that they did (with such art and care)! 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between the two in accordance with the requirements of truth and wisdom. The Hour is surely coming. So overlook [their faults] with gracious forgiveness. 85 Your Lord is indeed the Creator of all, the All-Knowing. 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur'an. 87 So covet not things We have bestowed on a portion of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and protect those who believe; 88 And say, "Indeed, I am the clear warner" - 89 such as We send down for those who are divisive, 90 and also divided the Quran believing in some parts and rejecting others. 91 Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one, 92 As to what they did. 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 We shall help you against those who mock you 95 Who set up along with Allah another ilah (god), they will come to know. 96 And assuredly We know that thou straitenest thy breast by that which they say. 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 and worship your Lord until what is certain [death] comes to you. 99
