And remember Our servant Job: when he cried to his Lord: “Behold, Satan has afflicted me with much hardship and suffering.” 41 (The command was given:) "Strike with thy foot: here is (water) wherein to wash, cool and refreshing, and (water) to drink." 42 And We gave him his family and the like of them with them, as a mercy from Us, and as a reminder to those possessed of understanding. 43 We told him, "Take a handful of straw. Strike your wife with it to fulfill your oath." We found him to be patient. What an excellent servant he was. He was certainly most repenting. 44 Remember also Our servants Abraham, Isaac and Jacob -- men of might they and of vision. 45 Verily We exalted them in consideration of a sterling quality: their remembrance of the Abode of the Hereafter. 46 And they are with Us, verily, of the chosen and the best! 47 Remember also Our servants Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhul Kifl; each is among the excellent. 48 This is a Reminder, and indeed for the cautious is a fine return, 49 the Gardens of eternity with gates thrown wide open to them. 50 wherein they will recline, [and] wherein they may [freely] call for many a fruit and drink, 51 ۞ And with them will be maidens of equal age with modest gaze. 52 This is what you are promised for the day of reckoning. 53 this, verily, shall be Our provision [for you,] with no end to it! 54 All this [for the righteous]: but, verily, the most evil of all goals awaits those who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right: 55 Hell; they shall enter it, so evil is the resting-place. 56 This, [then, for them] so let them taste it: burning despair and ice-cold darkness 57 and other similar to it, joined together. 58 “Here is another group that was with you, falling along with you”; they will answer, “Do not give them plenty of open space; they surely have to enter the fire – let them also be confined!” 59 They say, 'No, it is you have no Welcome; you forwarded it for us; how evil a stablishment!' 60 They will say, "Our Lord, whoever brought this upon us - increase for him double punishment in the Fire." 61 And they say: What aileth us that we behold not men whom we were wont to count among the wicked? 62 "Did we treat them (as such) in ridicule, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?" 63 Truly that is just and fitting,- the mutual recriminations of the People of the Fire! 64
