Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
