Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 And Him who created the male and female, 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 And believes in the best [reward], 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And denies the best [reward], 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 none shall enter it but the most wicked, 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 He verily will be content. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
