And the chiefs of his people who disbelieved and called the meeting of the hereafter a lie, and whom We had given plenty to enjoy in this world's life, said: This is nothing but a mortal like yourselves, eating of what you eat from and drinking of what you drink. 33 “If you were to obey a human like yourselves, then surely you are losers!” 34 Does he promise you that, after you have died and become [mere] dust and bones, you shall be brought forth [to a new life]? 35 ۞ "Far, very far is that which ye are promised! 36 Life is not but our worldly life - we die and live, but we will not be resurrected. 37 He is but a man who hath fabricated against God a lie, and in him we are not going to be believers. 38 The Messenger said: "My Lord! Come to my help at their accusing me of lying." 39 He said: In a little while they surely will become repentant. 40 So the true Scream seized them – We therefore made them like rotten hay; so away with the unjust people! 41 After them We brought another generation into existence. 42 No nation can outstrip its term, nor can it put it back. 43 Then We sent Our Messengers in succession. Whenever a Messenger came to his people they rejected him, calling him a liar. Thereupon, We made each people to follow the other (to its doom), reducing them to mere tales (of the past). Scourged be the people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our tokens and a clear warrant 45 Unto Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they scorned (them) and they were despotic folk. 46 So they said: shall we believe in two human beings like unto us, while their nation are to us slaves? 47 So they denied them both [Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron)] and became of those who were destroyed. 48 And certainly We gave Musa the Book that they may follow a right direction. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign, and gave them shelter on an elevated ground, sequestered, watered by a spring. 50
