Have you not seen how those who dispute the revelations of God, turn away from Truth to falsehood? 69 Those who deny the Book and that with which We sent Our messengers - they are going to know, 70 When the fetters and the chains shall be on their necks; they shall be dragged 71 boiling water, and cast into the Fire. 72 And then they will be asked: "Where now are those [powers] to which you were wont to ascribe divinity 73 "In derogation of Allah?" They will reply: "They have left us in the lurch: Nay, we invoked not, of old, anything (that had real existence)." Thus does Allah leave the Unbelievers to stray. 74 that is because you exulted in the land without justification and because you behaved insolently. 75 Enter ye the gates of hell, to dwell therein. Evil is the habitation of the scornful. 76 So be patient [Prophet], for God's promise is true: whether We show you part of what We have promised them in this life, or cause you to die first, it is to Us that they will be recalled. 77 We did aforetime send messengers before thee: of them there are some whose story We have related to thee, and some whose story We have not related to thee. It was not (possible) for any messenger to bring a sign except by the leave of Allah: but when the Command of Allah issued, the matter was decided in truth and justice, and there perished, there and then those who stood on Falsehoods. 78
