The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the setting star, 1 your companion has neither strayed nor is he deluded; 2 and neither does he speak out of his own desire: 3 It is a revelations which has been revealed to him 4 Taught to him by one intense in strength - 5 Endued with Wisdom: for he appeared (in stately form); 6 While he was in the higher [part of the] horizon. 7 Then he drew near and hung above suspended, 8 until he was as close to him as the distance of two bows, or even less. 9 So did (Allah) convey the Inspiration to His slave [Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)]. 10 The heart lied not in that which he saw. 11 What, will you dispute with him about what he sees! 12 He saw Him indeed another time 13 Near the lote-tree of the last boundary. 14 Near it is the Garden of Abode. 15 Behold, the Lote-tree was shrouded (in mystery unspeakable!) 16 The sight (of Prophet Muhammad SAW) turned not aside (right or left), nor it transgressed beyond (the) limit (ordained for it). 17 He certainly saw of the greatest signs of his Lord. 18 Have you then considered Al-Lat, and Al-'Uzza (two idols of the pagan Arabs). 19 And Manat, the other third (of the pagan deities)? 20 What! For you the son, and for Him the daughter? 21 That indeed is a division most unfair! 22 These are only names given by yourselves and your fathers. God has not given them any authority. They, (unbelievers), only follow mere conjecture and the desires of their souls, even though guidance has already come to them from their Lord. 23 Or shall man have what he wishes? 24 But it is to Allah that the End and the Beginning (of all things) belong. 25
