We have created the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay 26 And the jinn We created before, of intensely hot fire. 27 Behold! thy Lord said to the angels: "I am about to create man, from sounding clay from mud moulded into shape; 28 When it is properly shaped and I have blown My Spirit into it, you should then bow down in prostration". 29 So the angels made obeisance, all of them together, 30 save Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves. 31 "How is it, O Iblis," said (the Lord), "you did not join those who bowed in homage?" 32 He said: I am not one to prostrate myself unto a mortal whom Thou hast created out of potter's clay of black mud altered! 33 (Allah) said: 'Begone, you are accursed! 34 and there shall be a curse upon you till the Day of Recompense." 35 He said: my Lord! respite me then till the Day whereon they will be raised up. 36 He said: So surely you are of the respited ones 37 till the appointed time. 38 "O my Lord," he said, "since You have led me into error I'll beguile them with the pleasures of the world and lead them astray, 39 Except Thy servants from among them, the devoted ones. 40 God said, "The path which leads to Me is a straight 41 Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 And lo! for all such, hell will be the promised place. 43 Seven gates it has, and unto each gate a set portion of them belongs.' 44
