The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O you (Prophet Muhamad), the cloaked, 1 Arise, and warn, 2 And thy Sustainer's greatness glorify! 3 thy robes purify 4 and flee from the statues! 5 And bestow not favour that thou mayest receive more. 6 Exercise patience to please your Lord. 7 When the Trumpet is sounded, 8 That, at that time, shall be a difficult day, 9 not of ease, for all who [now] deny the truth! 10 Leave Me (to deal) with him whom I created lonely, 11 And gave him vast wealth. 12 And sons always present by his side, 13 And made things easy for them. 14 After all that he desires that I should give more; 15 Not at all! Surely, he has been disobedient to Our verses. 16 I shall inflict on him hardship, 17 Surely he reflected and guessed, 18 May he be condemned! 19 Again (self-)destroyed is he, how he planned! - 20 May he be condemned again for his schemes! He looked around, 21 then frowned and scowled; 22 then he retreated and grew proud 23 He said, 'This is naught but a trumped-up sorcery; 24 this is nothing but the word of a mere mortal!” 25 I shall surely roast him in Sakar; 26 And what have you understood, what hell is! 27 It leaves nothing, nor does it spare; 28 Darkening and changing the colour of man! 29 Over it are nineteen. 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
