The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And the breath of morning 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
True are the words of God the Almighty.
