The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 and is no idle tale. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
