Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 In a high Garden 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 and goblets set forth 14 Cushions arranged, 15 And linen spread out. 16 Do they not then ponder how the clouds were formed; 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 thou art not charged to oversee them. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
