By no means! By the moon, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 a warning to humankind, 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 who will be in Paradise 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until death approached us". 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
