The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
